Plateau State Association Press Release

Washington, DC, December 27, 2011 – The Plateau State Association (PSA) – USA condemns in the strongest possible terms the appalling Christmas Day attacks in Nigeria. These cowardly attacks have claimed innocent lives and injured many more. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, and we wish a speedy recovery to those injured.

We are dismayed that Plateau State has yet again been the scene of terrorist outrage. Failure to bring perpetrators of these recurring dastardly acts to justice, coupled with the yet-to-be-implemented countless investigative reports, have undoubtedly fed into the culture of impunity that pervades our land.

While details of these latest attacks are still unclear, this is indisputably an act directed against innocent civilians. PSA calls on the Federal and State Governments to act promptly in identifying and bringing the perpetrators of these atrocious attacks to justice.

Plateau State Association (PSA) – USA, is a US-based 501 (c) 3 non-profit association. The aim of the association is to foster relations between indigenes of Plateau and to help in the development of the state in terms of economic, health and education for the overall wellbeing of its people. PSA is a non-political, non-religious association governed by an Executive Board and a Board of Trustees.
